Room with an Olympic view: £100,000 a week

Stat of the day: It doesn't actually look out over the Olympic village but this is the rental price that Sol Campbell, former Spurs and Arsenal defender, has set for his Mayfair property during the London 2012 Games.
The flat is usually rented out for £40,000 a week to high-flying businessmen and visiting dignitaries but, over the Olympic period, Campbell is more than doubling the price. And that's quite a chunk of change. Almost £10 a minute!
For your £100,000 (per week), you get seven bedrooms, two dressing rooms, seven bathrooms and three reception rooms. There's also a cinema, games room, swimming pool, sauna, solarium, steam room, gym - and a bar. Sod the Olympics. Stay in.
If Campbell finds a taker at the staggering six-figure price, it will be an industry first: the most expensive rental deal in London.
