Branson's at it again. Not content with owning luxurious private game reserve Ulusaba in South Africa, the Virgin founder has decided to open a second wildlife retreat. Mahali Mzuri, which Virgin's PR team describes as being situated in 'a pristine part' of the African bush (MT's not quite sure what it means by pristine - no creepy crawlies? no green mambas?) will open this summer, just in time for guests to watch the annual Great Migration in Kenya.
'This is the place to be for a front row view,' gushes the press release.
Mahali Mzuri is located in the Motorogi Conservancy where there are 13,500 hectares of bush to explore. The neighbouring Olare Orok Conservancy is also just a quick (albeit bumpy) jeep ride away.
'Visitors to Mahali Mzuri can expect exciting game drives with experienced guides, delicious meals, a cosy and relaxing atmosphere at the camp and in a uniquely designed, spacious and luxurious tent.'
Sounds rather nice. But get in there fast if you want to beat the rush. There are only 12 tents catering for a maximum of 24 guests at any one time. Rates start from $590 per person, which is somewhat less than the fee he's charging to put people in orbit. To book, journey over to Virgin Limitied Edition.
