Unemployed cabbies should worry no more. Anyone ready to relocate should head east for a possible job.

At the sumptuous Grand Hyatt in Hong Kong, six black cabs provide regular courtesy transport for hotel guests between the Wanchai business district and the centre. It is a wonderful idea.

Unfortunately, however, the distinctive London cabs have a wider appeal. Like the Mercs, BMWs and Rollers which abound on the island's crowded streets, they are a popular unofficial export to China.

Entrepreneurial initiative has always been celebrated in Hong Kong, but is this not going too far to pick up your next passenger?
