MT delights in data champions with new Award

Every business these days has access to serious volumes of data. But to make proper use of these numbers, to gain insight then make strong business decisions is not always straight forward. In fact, it's a skill – and an investment – in itself.

To celebrate those organisations that have harnessed the chaos of the data avalanche, Management Today and Accenture have launched the inaugural Analytics in Action Awards.

This information offers a wealth of opportunities – these are exciting times. With customer knowledge, transaction records, data from connected devices and unstructured information on social media, it is a significant challenge to capture and interpret.
 
Accenture research suggests that two out of three companies have recently appointed a chief data officer (or equivalent) with the same proportion currently using some form of predictive analytics in part of their business. Yet only 40 per cent believe they are tapping into all their company's data and only one in five think they are getting sufficient return on their analytics investment.

Improved performance and outcomes hinge on gaining insights from data and then using these to make better, faster, decisions. A holistic approach to analytics is not optional, it is essential in creating a competitive advantage in today’s rapidly evolving market-place.  

The Analytics in Action Awards recognise and celebrate organisations that have placed analytics at the heart of their operations and turned data-driven insights into tangible outcomes.
