First-half profits are up 24% to £230m and it hit its target to have 10 million subscribers by the end of 2010 some weeks early. Former FD Darroch has augmented sport and movies with tempting new premium offerings such as bundled broadband and high-definition TV, helping to drive per-user revenues ever higher. He has denied rumours that he might leave if the Murdochs succeed in their bid to buy the 60% of BSkyB they don't already own. We'll have to wait for Ofcom's verdict on that.
