Britain's Most Admired No 8: Tesco, Sir Terry Leahy

Leahy is standing down in March in favour of current IT director Phil Clarke, and the news of his retirement wiped £750m off Tesco's share price.

Leahy was responsible for the Club Card, with its data goldmine, and the moves into clothing, banking and non-food and its international expansion. Tesco has won BMAC six times since 1996, while Leahy has been voted most admired leader eight times in the past decade.
