Aviation is going positively Medieval, says Branson
By Elizabeth Anderson Friday, 17 February 2012
Quote of the day: 'This takeover would take British flying back to the dark ages,' says the beardy one (forgetting, of course, that the Wright brothers didn't invent powered flight until 1903). But rage does funny things to people's memories and Sir Richard Branson is none too happy about IAG's potential takeover of UK airline bmi. He says it'll mean higher fares and fewer flights, as IAG (the parent company of British Airways) will knock out the competition.
If you've got a sense of deja vu, that's because Branson complained about this very thing only two months back.
