Britain's Most Admired No.7: Rolls-Royce, Sir John Rose
Wednesday, 26 November 2008
Rose has been boss of ultra-consistent BMAC performer Rolls-Royce since 1996 (he joined the firm in 1984).
Recession or not, Rolls-Royce is still trading well, with orders up by £5bn in the four months to October. Annual profits are expected to be up slightly from last year's £800m. But Rose remains cautious about what effects the deteriorating global economy will have on the firm, and he has just announced 2,000 redundancies worldwide.
