Green Business Awards 2008: Highly commended and shortlisted
Highly commended - Best New Product
Access Accounting sticks to its motto that you can't manage what you can't measure. In February, the business and accounting software house launched a module enabling businesses to measure their carbon footprint through the standard accounting process. Accounting for Carbon Emissions (ACE) has been made available at no extra cost to all 10,000+ customers of its main accounting package. It claims to be the first mainstream accounting software vendor to develop integrated carbon tracking. The module calculates carbon emissions based on guidelines set by the Government and the Carbon Trust for transactions such as travel, utility bills and expense claims. No changes to ordinary accounting workflow are required. Users get carbon reporting automatically alongside financial reports, enabling managers to identify and reduce emissions.
