Who is he? A 'corporate Huckleberry Finn' who sits on an estimated personal fortune of $2.6 billion. He co-founded Apple and is the visionary behind animation studio Pixar. Gates may be richer, but Jobs is cooler.

How did he make his millions? He started Apple with Stephen Wozniak in his garage using the $1,300 raised from the sale of a Volkswagen minibus in 1976. By 1980, Apple had gone public and was capitalised at $1.2 billion. In 1985, Jobs left Apple, bought Pixar from George Lucas and produced the blockbusters Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. He returned to a flagging Apple as CEO in 1997, breathing new life into the company with the launch of the iMac and iPod.

The secret of his success? A perpetual innovator with a real sense of style, whose utilitarian obsession with making technology accessible to the masses continues to fuel his success.
