Managing Your Time

Julie-Ann Amos, How To books £9.99

A reasonably clear and thoughtful account of the problems involved in managing time, starting with an analysis of time spent at work. Not a quick read, however. Should any time management book be as long as this 125-page densely packed publication? *

How to Be a Better Time Manager

Jane Smith, Kogan Page £8.99

Unusually for the 'How to Be a Better ...' series, this book disappoints.

Life is too short to deal with headings like 'The Paradox of Time' and 'Conquering the Tyranny of the Urgent'. Time saved not reading this book might be put to better use. *

Time and Workload Management

Debra Allcock, The Industrial Society £8.95

This is a brisk and unflinching primer, summed up by its choice phrase 'ruthless with time, kind to people'. It is actually short enough to be read and digested without taking up too much of your time. Full of practical common sense.**

*** best of its kind

none: avoid.
