What does it do?
It allows you to record everything you put on an ordinary whiteboard in meetings onto a laptop, eliminating the need for frantic note-taking. Attach the bar-shaped unit to the side of the whiteboard, plug it into your laptop, slip the pen into a special holder and away you go. Every mark you make - in up to four different colours - is recorded sequentially, so you can go back through the presentation, pen stroke by pen stroke. It is also possible to transmit the presentation in real time to other computers, via the net. Text recognition is promised soon and object recognition is in the pipeline.
What's the competition?
The only real competition at the moment is from 'electronic whiteboards', which are cumbersome and can cost thousands of pounds.
When can I get it?
It should be available from mid-May, priced about £350.
