35 Women under 35: Kate Prince

The director and founder of dance company ZooNation on the importance of a good team and the perils of being under-rehearsed...

by MT Staff

Secret of my success. Surrounding myself with like-minded, talented people - both the production team and the dancers. I wouldn't be half the creative I am if I wasn't working with them. It's very collaborative what we do.

My biggest career lesson. Don't dance and do dangerous tricks when you're unwell and under-rehearsed - then you break your foot, and you're screwed. That was me at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Best piece of advice. I have quite simple views when it comes to creative success: just be good at it. If you're no good at it, it's just not going to work. And then, immerse yourself in it: live, breathe, sleep, and eat it. Make it everything you are.
