BRITAIN'S MOST ADMIRED COMPANIES 2015: No 9 - RB
RB's popular household brands: from Calgon to Nurofen
A solid top 10 placing for the Cillit Bang to Strepsils giant formerly known as Reckitt Benckiser. Q3 revenues are up 6% to £2.2bn, with a good showing across its key markets apart from Brazil, which the firm admits remains 'challenging'. CEO Rakesh Kapoor's strategy of focusing on higher-margin consumer healthcare products received a fillip in the UK, with the regulatory go-ahead to merge K-Y (purchased from Johnson & Johnson last year) into its Durex business. Up from 16th last year and 53rd in 2013, RB's marketing nous should propel it to even greater heights of admiration next year.
