BOOKS: On the bedside table of Vanessa Leeson

I usually have a novel or biography to read and a book to browse. I'm reading Yann Martel's Man Booker winner of 2002, Life of Pi, and also Meetings with Remarkable Trees. This gem by Thomas Pakenham has 60 awe-inspiring tree biographies - all great survivors and a reminder that all living things need great friends and more than a little luck!
