Entree On the walls are pictures of men with huge beer guts. Not a good advertisement for the food, you would have thought, until you realise they're the most famous series of posters in advertising history - the Pregnant Man - which is also the name of the pub/canteen. It's more of a pub really, with a juke box, table football, a pool table, Sega rally games and Sky sports. It feels like a relic of a more prosperous advertising age when agencies could invoice for a creative haircut.
Main dish Agencies are supposed to live the product, and you wonder for a moment whether lunch will be a combination of Castlemaine, Bisto and Burton Biscuits. Fortunately, it isn't. Thai vegetable fishcakes in a peanut butter sauce, or Welsh rarebit (on ciabatta - this is an advertising agency, after all). On Friday, the smell of fish and chips has people coming in for lunch who don't usually start work until the afternoon.
Dessert Pub usage is strictly segmented; breakfast bacon and sausage rolls to mop up hangovers, lunch for people who are junior enough to think they have a lunch hour; and then after-work drinks for the industrious before they go back to work.
