Who is he?
The larger-than-life Greek serial entrepreneur who gave us easyJet. He is worth £300 million.
How did he make his millions?
Born into a wealthy Greek shipping family, Stelios started Stelmar Tankers in 1992 and easyJet in '95. The budget airline was floated in 2000 and he retained a 25% stake, which he has milked to fund other easy-branded ventures - losses for which tot up to £127 million. In February, he sold £14 million worth of easyJet shares to finance easyCruise, easyBus and easyHotel.
What's the secret of his success?
Relentless self-publicising and ambition. He admits he is not a good manager but is 'suited to start-ups and fire-fighting'.
