When did you become a manager? I started as a booker in 1992. For the past three years I've been working with girls like Naomi (Campbell) and Claudia (Schiffer), which involves a lot more organisation, so I would say in 1996.

What does management mean to you? I have to manage every aspect of these girls. With supermodels, we often look after personal aspects of their lives such as running their homes. We negotiate on their behalf and co-ordinate with other agencies. Whatever they need, we do.

What do you love/hate about it? There's no routine and various projects - such as Naomi's picture book - bring you into contact with industries you wouldn't normally have access to. The travel is also good: fun things like flying to Japan for the day. What I don't like is that - because of overseas work - you have to be available at all times. If a crisis arrives you have to deal with it very quickly. It wears you down.
