Britain's Most Admired Companies 2012: Agencies

A brand new sector for BMAC 2012, these agencies hail from industries as disparate as property, advertising, and price comparison.

Rightmove, the UK’s most-visited property website, takes the inaugural laurels in this new-for-2012 sector. First-half profits are up over 30% to £38.9m and an eye-popping operating margin of 70% proves that there is still money to be made in the British property market. Rightmove also takes the overall award for quality of management and equal honours for financial soundness. One advertising megagroup – Aegis (bought in July by Dentsu of Japan for £3.2bn) – pips another, WPP, to second place.
