Britain's Most Admired Companies 2013: Agencies
It's the second year MT has featured the agencies sector, which includes nominees from sectors as varied as property, advertising and price comparison.
The UK's leading property search website, Rightmove, takes the sector top spot again this year, its 82% market share helping to deliver revenues up 23% to £119.4m and operating profit up 26% to £87.5m - a spectacular margin of over 70%. But competition is increasing as the property market (at least in the south-east) booms - a new rival, Agencies Mutual, is due to launch shortly.
Aegis Media - which includesCarat and iProspect - was bought by Dentsu for £3.2bn in 2012, part of an aggressive global expansion by the Japanese giant. But there is room for the small but perfectly formed too - M&C Saatchi pips Sir Martin Sorrell's WPP to take third. Comparison site moneysupermarket.com
