Credit rating agency Experian climbs one place to take the sector laurels for the first time. First-half revenues were $2.3bn and growth of around 6% is expected to continue. In November it bought US data firm Passport Health Communications for $850m, its third acquisition this year. Consumer safety testing group Intertek is up one place to second. It has bought US rival Architectural Testing for £59m, but sales growth fell to 5% in Q3. Rupert Soames, boss of Glasgow-based power outfit Aggreko - which supplies generators for music festivals and African governments - has come out against Scottish independence, claiming it would raise costs across the UK. Engineering services business Babcock's first-half profits rose 17% to £141.7m.
