Britain's Most Admired By Sector: Property

Hardly a vintage year for this industry, but Land Securities retains its most-admired sector position - despite problems in selling its Trillium outsourcing arm.

Last month, £1.76bn was wiped off the value of Land Securities' property portfolio, as the slump took hold. Second-placed Great Portland Estates is up two places, having come top for quality of management and ability to attract, develop and retain talent. Chairman Richard Peskin, who retires next March, is to be replaced by former Deloitte UK chairman Martin Scicluna. Third is Derwent London, the largest central London-focused real estate investment trust, with an investment portfolio of £2.5bn.
