Managing director Noel Hayden and two others founded computer games operation Gamesys in 2001. Hayden had previously set up Internet Digital Media, an online gaming company that was sold to Gameplay for £7m in 1999. The proceeds were used as seed capital for Gamesys. After 11 years, its leading brand, Jackpotjoy is the UK's leading online instant win and bingo site with over 4 million players. London-based Gamesys saw its profits soar to nearly £58m on £181m sales in 2012-13.
