'Bunting boost' given to retailers over Diamond Jubilee

Quote of the day: 'It was the bunting boost. June was saved by the feelgood lift of the Jubilee.' Stephen Robertson, the BRC's director general, says spending over the Diamond Jubilee lifted retail sales by 1.4% on a year ago. But it wasn't a different story for the rest of the month: the 'soggy' weather the rest of June saw sales slide again.
