Business founder changes name by deed poll in trademark row

The founder of PR agency 3 Monkeys Communications has changed her name to Angie Louise 3 Monkeys Communications Moxham in a trademark row.

by Evie Barrett

The founder of PR agency 3 Monkeys Communications has legally changed her name in the hope of being able to re-establish the 3 Monkeys brand.

Angie Moxham founded the agency in 2003, and owned it for almost 13 years until the company was bought by global consultancy network Zeno Group in January 2016.

At the time of the acquisition, Zeno merged 3 Monkeys with its UK operation to create 3 Monkeys Zeno. Moxham became chief executive of the agency, reporting to Zeno's global chief executive Barby Siegel, who in turn reported to Richard Edelman, chairman of Zeno's parent DJE Holdings.
