How business leaders can deliver sustainability action through innovation in 2023

Among the many business priorities concerning leaders in 2023 – including building resilience in the current uncertain economic climate – defining and executing a robust sustainability strategy is increasingly critical for growth and reputation.

Last year, IBM research found that nearly 60% of CEOs saw significant demand from investors for greater transparency on sustainability and also felt pressure from multiple stakeholders. The research also highlighted a greater demand from consumers wanting to buy from sustainable businesses as well as people wanting to work for companies that invest in sustainability initiatives.

From the boardroom to the operations centres, stakeholders across the business want to play a role in making a positive difference in our world. However, while 86% of companies say they already have a sustainability strategy in place, we only see 23% implementing sustainability strategies across their entire organisation.
