The Competitive Fitness of Global Firms report has been published annually since 1998. Its objective is to provide a balance to the predominantly short term and financial nature of the information generally available on business corporations.
The report concentrates on intangible business capabilities, that are the fundamental assets of firms and for which there is, paradoxically, a total absence of measurement. The report provides an evaluation of the business capabilities of firms among the 500 largest in North America and Europe.
The information is obtained from multiple respondents from each firm in a 182-item survey submitted to members of the International Executive Network (IEN). The IEN executives are, on average, 3 levels from the CEO, 43 years of age and have 17 years of experience.
