The former editors will be charged in connection with the hacking of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler’s phone to listen to her voicemail messages. Seven other NI staff face charges of conspiring to intercept communications between 2001 and 2006.

Apparently, around 600 people were victims of the illegal phone-hacking carried out at the now-defunct The News of the World newspaper. The news comes just days after Rupert Murdoch resigned a series of directorships of his News Corporation’s UK businesses.
