Which are the highest paying employers in the UK?

In the vociferous war for talent, money speaks. And if you want to win, you’re going to have to fork out between £60,000 and £90,000 a year.

That’s according to a survey by the online jobs board Glassdoor, which reveals the 25 highest paying companies in the UK based on the median total compensation package - base pay plus bonuses.

According to the 715 adults surveyed, Credit Suisse pays its workers the most, with a median base salary of £90,000, setting the trend for a list dominated by tech and financial firms. McKinsey (13) is the only exception to that rule.

Just three businesses of the 25 have their permanent global HQ in the UK - Standard Chartered (5), JustEat (17) and Babylon Health (19).

Of course while paying people a pittance is unlikely to earn much loyalty, splurging on mega-salaries doesn't necessarily equate to them sticking around or performing at their best.

LinkedIn’s Purpose at Work survey suggests that 74 per cent of candidates want a job where they feel like their work matters, while Zen Internet’s CEO Paul Stobart says that the company’s approach to employee engagement has helped it maintain an industry-low customer attrition rate.
