The Bath-based valves and actuators specialist is a BMAC stalwart which climbs two places to ninth, despite the woes afflicting its core oil and gas market, and the unexpected departure of veteran CEO Peter France in July. Pressure on Rotork’s enviable margins will likely require his yet-to-be-named successor to do some careful cost reduction. H1 pre-tax profits rose 27% to £48.8m – thanks to a helping hand from the weak pound. The business is also joint winner of this year’s criteria award for Quality of Goods & Services.
