Popular app Draw Something to be made into primetime TV show

Quote of the day: US broadcaster CBS has just secured the rights to a new pilot episode of Draw Something, the TV show. 'Teams of celebrities and everyday users will test their skills in front of a studio audience to earn money and big laughs,' an inside source told Variety. 'Viewers can also play along at home for a chance to win prizes and compete with the celebrities.'

Zynga, which bought OMGPOP's Draw Something for $180m in April, will be hoping the show boosts Draw Something's flagging popularity. At its height in April, the app boasted over 14 million users daily. That number has now halved. Nevertheless, the new show is seriously hot property, with CBS beating off 'multiple networks' to acquire the rights.
