The first press of the Sunday Sun comes out this tomorrow and the title is already shaping up nicely. Every single advertising page has been sold (as of Thursday) and a recent YouGov poll shows that 90% of people surveyed by the data cruncher are aware of the new brand – hardly surprising, with the proliferation of advertising about. MT has been assailed by radio ads, tube posters and TV commercials for the new paper over the last week.

Now, Rupert Murdoch has taken to Twitter to chat about his hopes for the launch edition: ‘Great speculation, sweeps, etc on Sunday's sale,’ he says. ‘I will be very happy at anything substantially over two million!’

And with a sale price of just 50p for the Sunday edition, the target won’t be hard to meet. But rival publishers Trinity Mirror and Associated Newspapers will be hoping that their papers don’t take a two-million-sale hit in the process…
