Slogan Doctor: Wonga - Straight Talking Money

Money talks, goes the saying.

The slogan of Wonga, the online short-term loan company, is a promise to be forthright and honest. Wonga knows its business model - instantly lending money for short periods at eyewatering rates of interest - is controversial: MP Stella Creasy refers to the company and its competitors as 'legal loan sharks'. But Wonga makes no pretence about what it does. Its website shows the extraordinary APR of loans (although APR doesn't apply, as they're not annual loans) and you don't have to look far to discover the serious consequences of failing to repay on time. 'Straight Talking Money', devised by Wonga's marketing team and launched in a TV ad campaign in July, promises money and no flannel. Like the company's name, the slogan is blunt and brash, which is how its customers like it.
