After Warren Buffet’s proclamation in the New York Times that America’s super-rich have been coddled by Congress for long enough, it seems the rich worldwide are merrily engaging in a spot of bandwagon-jumping. 

A group of 50 Germans have renewed their open call to Chancellor Merkel to prevent the poverty gap from getting bigger by saying they should be taxed even harder. The group says Germany could raise €100bn in two years if the richest pay a 5% wealth tax, the Guardian reports. How philanthropic. Will Britain be next?
