The (surprisingly large) number of cash machines in the UK that dispense £5 notes.

The number of cash machines dispensing five pound notes has rocketed in the last couple of years. There are now 3,954 holes in the wall where you can withdraw fivers – almost six times the 670 there were in 2009.

That number might sound impressive – but in comparison to the 63,000 cash machines currently operating in Britain. The Bank of England, however, is trying to improve this in order to help people on lower incomes who want access to smaller amounts of cash.
