From Hollywood to Bollywood: Disney wants to increase its foothold in India, one of the world's fastest-growing media and entertainment markets. The US movie giant already owns a share of UTV Software Communications, one of Bollywood’s largest film groups, but now it wants to up its stake: the company has offered $454m for the half it doesn’t own.

Film companies are eager to cash in on the success of Bollywood. The Indian media industry saw growth of 11% last year compared to the year before, and this year growth is expected to be 13%, according to KPMG. Hi ho, hi ho it’s off to India they go…
