What is it?
A USB back-up device the size of your thumb.
What does it do?
If you're on Windows 2000 or XP (sorry, no Mac users), this little gadget backs up all your Microsoft Office documents. Just plug it directly into your PC's USB port - no need to load any software or even to use the mouse.
Once you've registered and made a note of your personal 'restore code' every time you plug in the Backup Buddy, it performs a full Office back-up, so that in the event of a hardware failure (or a nasty dose of MS Blast) you can retrieve all those vital letters, e-mails and spreadsheets.
Compression means that even the smallest 64Mb version holds a respectable 256Mb of data - the largest swallows a Tardis-like 4Gb.
What's the competition?
There are plenty of portable storage devices on the market from the likes of Iomega, Creative Labs and Trek. But not many can match Backup Buddy's small size, large capacity and maximum ease of use. Just don't lose it.
When can I get it?
It's available now, priced from pounds 49.99 to pounds 399.99, depending on capacity.
