How did he make his millions?
Hunter started 20 years ago with a £5,000 loan from his greengrocer father to set up footwear concessions in department stores. Within five years, he opened the first of his Sports Division shops, which he sold in 1998 for £290 million to JJB Sports. Hunter now has investments in property and retail ventures, including Bhs. A substantial charitable donor, Hunter recently gave £100 million to Scottish schools.

What's the secret to his success?
Not Scotland's education system, which he says did 'little or nothing' to teach him about business. It was his enterprising father who fostered Hunter junior's can-do attitude.
