The "typical" CEO: Education, career, pay and more

We've made an infographic showing the background of UK chief execs - and revealing how much they're paid.

Large company chief executives make for easy caricatures in newspapers and popular imagination alike. Every January, for example, we're treated to collective hand wringing and finger pointing on Fat Cat Tuesday/Friday etc, the day when the average FTSE 100 CEO's year-to-date earnings overtake the average worker's annual salary.

Drill down and of course you'll find a varied group, with different backgrounds, stories and interests. You'll meet many of them individually on these pages, but to help give a flavour of who our CEOs are as a group and where they come from, we made this infographic for the latest print edition of Management Today.
