Management Today readers will be delighted to hear the news that Shirley Skeel, our associate editor, won the Business Writer of the Year award at the Periodical Publishers Association "Magazines '91" ceremony.

The award, presented to Shirley by Michael Mander, director of the sponsoring merchant bank, Hill Samuel, was in recognition of her determination and skills as an investigative reporter. As the judges noted, these were clearly demonstrated in her piece on the collapse of British and Commonwealth's Atlantic Computers ("Scuttled By Atlantic Storms", Management Today, July 1990), in which she pursued people involved in all sides of the scandal to tell the real story.
