Peter Wilkin, the 58 year old chairman of Wilkin & Sons, makers of the Queen's favourite jam, certainly believes in spreading it around - his 180-strong workforce stands to inherit the business when their heirless boss retires. Rather than sell up, Wilkin has established a trust to hold a controlling interest in the £6.7 million business on the workers' behalf - a case, you might say, of jam today and jam tomorrow.
