Ever eager to consult its friends in academe, Management Today was glad to receive an enterprising new publication from the University of Cambridge. "The Media Guide to Expertise" gathers together the finest minds of that esteemed establishment and offers them up to journalistic enquiry.

While noting the sources of erudition on all things managerial, our attention was caught by some of the more unusual entries. Under the heading of "Law" is an interesting sub-section entitled "Money laundering and economic crime" - which, post BCCI, will no doubt be much in demand.

One can only speculate, however, on the number of calls that the other listed experts on yeast, ladybirds, the history of the clarinet or, for that matter, Gagaku court music will receive. Then again, perhaps we are just being narrow minded.
