Billed as 'The World's First Media Phone', it uses the new 'Wireless Application Protocol'. In English, this means it will be the first mobile phone capable of accessing the new industry-standard web pages specifically designed with mobiles in mind. Other phones (such as Nokia's own 9110) can already browse normal web pages, but the speed at which they transmit data makes this a time-consuming business. The new text-rich pages will download far more quickly. Deals with several information providers are in the pipeline. The phone also has the usual features you'd get on any modern mobile.
What's the competition?
Not much at the moment. This is, after all, 'The World's First Media Phone'. But expect other manufacturers to offer similar products soon.
When can I get it?
It will be available from mid-August, for around £200.
